Our Story
I have always loved older firearms--they have real soul!--and have spent many years as a gun hobbyist. Even as a boy, I enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together, and I love solving the puzzle of why something doesn't work the way it should. On my retirement, I decided that I wanted to be able to work on more than just my own firearms, and began my training to become AGI certified. I am excited to share my knowledge with others.

Meet the Team
A-gunsmitH is a one-man shop, working by appointment only, located in Wichita, KS. Anthony Heard (thus the capital A and H in the name of the business) is owner, founder, and sole gunsmith, as well as being certified as an appraiser.
ANTHONY HEARD, Certified Appraiser
Anthony Heard spent almost 34 years with the Wichita Fire Department, retiring in January of 2018 as a Captain. As he says, "I am not old enough to retire, but for the fire department I am ancient! It's a young man's game."
Prior to serving with the WFD, he served 5 1/2 years as a police officer with Wichita State University. He holds degrees from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA, and Wichita State University, Wichita, KS.
He has always loved shooting and guns in general and enjoys reloading ammunition to shoot. Finally, the hobby has become a business!
Originally from Iowa, Anthony has been a Wichita, KS, resident since 1977, where he has raised his two daughters and is now helping to raise his grandchildren.
